We all enjoy this delicious salad at a diner, cafe, steakhouse or even at an Italian restaurant. It is the most popular dish in the US. People think this "Caesar salad" came from Italy, to be honest, it came from Mexico. It was invented in the 1920's by an Italian Chef in Tijuana, Mexico at his own restaurant & his name was Caesar Cardini. So the salad was named after him. For this recipe you will need.....
Ingredients-
Dressing-
3 garlic cloves (minced)
3/4 cup mayonnaise
2 tbsp grated parmesan cheese
5 anchovy fillets
1 tbsp lemon juice
1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
1 tsp dijon mustard
salt & pepper to taste
Salad-
1 head romaine lettuce torn into bite sizes
1 cup grated parmesan cheese
1 1/2 cup bacon bits
1 cup croutons
1 cup cherry tomatoes cut in half (optional)
Servings- 4
Prep-7 minutes
Making- 5 minutes
Directions-
Dressing-
Mince 3 garlic cloves & place them in a small bowl.
Add mayonnaise, parmesan cheese, anchovies (make sure to chop & smear them), lemon juice, & mustard. Mix them up well combine.
Season the salt & pepper to taste.
Refrigerate when ready.
Salad-
cut your romaine lettuce, & as an option if you want to add cherry tomatoes, cut them in half then place them in a bowl.
Then sprinkle the parmesan cheese, croutons, bacon bits, & finally the dressing. Mix it all up then serve it!
