Crab Cake with crab cake sauce

These crab cakes are the most popular dish in the United States even in Maryland. What's more amazing added on the crab cakes is the "crab cake sauce". You would see these crab cakes at restaurants mostly at casual fancy dine in restaurant or on a cruise ship. We all crave for crab cakes sometimes, & if you're craving for some crab cakes? Why Not cook it at home! This recipe you will need to have....

prep & cook- 1hour 30 minutes

Important Ingredients-

Paprika-Mild & sweet then moves to very hot.

Lemon juice- It adds a bright, citrusy flavor to savory and sweet dishes alike. Gives a better flavor.

Breadcrumbs- Very combining of any ingredients even dry ingredients when mixing. Keeps both the wet & dry ingredients together.

Dried parsley- bright, herbaceous & slightly bitter. Similar to lemon zest.

Saltine crackers- Just like when you're eating crackers daily, but when you crush them as you combine with the dry & mostly wet ingredients, they become doughy which will keep the crab meats & ingredients together.

1/2 cup saltine crackers

1/2 cup mayo

2 beaten eggs

1/2 cup bread crumbs

1/3 cup dried parsley

2 tsp paprika

1 tsp lemon juice

1 tsp worcestershire sauce

1lb crab meat

1/4 cup chopped onions

1 1/2 tsp old bay seasoning

1 tsp Dijon mustard





Crab cake sauce-

1 cup mayo

1 tbsp lemon juice

1/2 tsp salt

1 tsp old bay seasoning

1 1/2 tsp worcestershire sauce

1 tsp Dijon mustard

1 tsp minced garlic

 

Directions-

  1. In a medium bowl, mix together crushed saltine crackers, dried parsley, Worcestershire, lemon juice, 2 eggs, paprika, mayo, Dijon mustard, onions, & Old Bay seasoning.

  2. Gently stir in the crabmeat. Shape into 6 patties. Gently set the patties on a plate & put them in fridge for about an hour.

  3. For the sauce, mix in all the wet ingredients & put them in the fridge for about 30 mins or more, but as you take them out leave sauce set for 20 mins at room temperature.

  4. To fry the crab cakes put heat on med/high heat use 1 tbsp butter & 2 tbsp vegetable oil.

  5. Cook the crab cakes to be sure both sides for golden brown but make sure the temperature of each crab cake is 145 & above. (Highly recommend being at temp 150 or above).
