If you like orange chicken, then you gotta try “orange shrimp”. Has a great orange flavor & can be addictive to eat. This would also tastes great on chicken.
Ingredients-
Main ingredient-
1/2 lb large deveined peeled shrimp
1/4 cup cornstarch
1/3 cup vegetable oil
Sauce-
1 cup orange juice
1 tbsp apple cider vinegar
1 tbsp rice vinegar
1/4 tsp minced ginger
2 cloves garlic
2 tbsp soy sauce
1/4 cup brown sugar
2-4 shakes red crushed pepper (optional)
1 tbsp cornstarch
Directions-
Sauce-
1. In a small bowl add all of the ingredients from the sauce ingredients.
Main directions-
1. Get a medium bowl & add the shrimp then coat the shrimp with cornstarch mix them up really well.
Cooking-
2. In a wok or large skillet on medium high heat, add vegetable oil. Allow oil to get hot.
3. Carefully put few shrimps in the wok at a time & do not overcrowd them. Allow them to cook for 5-6 minutes then take them out put them in a dry paper towel, & cook them the second time for 2 minutes. And take them out again.
Saucing-
2. In a pan set over medium high heat, pour sauce in. Stirring consistently until the sauce bubbles & thickens, about 2-3 minutes. Mix the fried shrimp all together until they’re fully coated.
