Macaroni & cheese is everyones favorite side dish, especially little kids. This recipe is good for when you want to enjoy dinner time with your family. It almost tastes like youre at a restaurant!
I used oat milk because it is creamier & tastes just right but you can use regular milk if you want too. Plus get rid of those box mac n cheese that you buy at a grocery store because this type of Mac n cheese tastes so real!
Ingredients-
1 (8oz) box of elbow macaroni
1/4 cup butter
1/4 all purpose flour
1/2 tsp salt
ground black pepper to taste
2 cups oat milk
2 cups shredded cheddar
1 cup shredded mild cheddar
1/4 tsp onion powder
Serving- 4 servings
Prep- 6 minutes
Cooking- 22 minutes
Directions-
Get a large pot of lightly salted water to a boil. Cook the elbow macaroni in the boiling water, stirring occasionally until cooked through 8 minutes.
melt butter in sauce pan over medium heat.
Add flour salt & pepper then stir until smooth about 5 minutes.
Pour in oat milk slowly while stirring continuously. Continue to cook & stir until mixture is smooth & bubbling, about 5 minutes, making sure the milk doesn't burn.
Add both of the shredded cheeses, cheddar mild cheddar & onion powder stir & melt for 2-4 minutes.
